You could use \u201cpersonal injury lawyer Boston\u201d as a\nkeyword, but a little testing might show you that potential clients who click\nthat link don\u2019t tend to follow through at the rate you\u2019d expect, perhaps\nbecause they are searching for a lawyer for other types of injuries. Some of\nyour potential clients will fall in this net, but you are also paying to\nattract clicks from those who won\u2019t ultimately need the services you provide.\nYou might have much better success with a strategy of buying \u201cmotorcycle lawyer\nBoston\u201d and related keywords. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>2. Competing in a space that\u2019s too crowded<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In that same vein, you need to narrow down your niche when\nit comes to ads and search engine optimization. For instance, if you have a\nsmall business that does personalized background checks for job applicants, you\nwant to understand what human resources departments are looking for when they\ngo beyond the computerized background checks. If you\u2019re spinning your wheels\ntrying to land on the same page as the big corporations, you may need to take a\nstep back and evaluate what kind of searches you want to show up on and focus\non those. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>3. Neglecting content<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Too many business owners focus all their marketing efforts\non SEO or email marketing when they are not consistent about publishing blog,\nvideo, or e-book content. This is the middle of your funnel. It is important\nfor establishing credibility and brand loyalty, converting interest into\npurchases. Without content, your target customer doesn\u2019t know who you are or\neven how active your business is. The visual experience needs to be clean, but it also needs to load\nquickly\u2014as many as 40% of users will leave a page that takes over three seconds\nto load. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if your website is modern and fresh, it\u2019s important to\ncontinually evaluate whether your design makes it easy for customers to come to\nyour site, find what they want, and make a purchase. Is there a simple, easy-to-follow\ncall to action on your site that directs the customer to each step of the\nprocess? Have you optimized other aspects of your site that are likely to turn\ninterested parties into buyers, such as including testimonials, reviews, and\nother companies you work with? Have you tested the relevant aspects of your\ninterface to see what customers best respond to? Doing all this can help people\nwho want what you offer to take the final step and become your customers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>5. Not measuring your success<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re not analyzing how your marketing is going, you\nwon\u2019t know what to do next. You\u2019d be surprised how many business owners just\nthrow some Facebook ads out there and wait for the customers to start rolling\nin. But without analytics, you won\u2019t know if an uptick is due to organic\ntraffic, seasonal influences, or anything else you\u2019ve done different lately.\nIt\u2019s nearly impossible to measure concepts like brand awareness, but luckily,\nthere are many tools you can use to measure how well a marketing campaign is\nperforming so that adjustments can be made in real time as the campaign rolls\nout.
